PHNOM PENH โ Senate President Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen affirmed that the agro-industrial sector has been a key priority for the Royal Government of Cambodia from the outset. He stressed that the current government continues to view this sector, particularly agricultural product processing, as essential and a high national priority.

The Senate President made these remarks this morning during a meeting with Mr. Takahashi Fumiaki, President of the Japan-Cambodia Association (JCA), and the 5th Japanese Investment Promotion Delegation at the January 7 Palace in Phnom Penh.

According to H.E. Chea Thyrith, Spokesperson for the Senate, Samdech Techo Hun Sen expressed deep appreciation for the JCAโs active role in strengthening Cambodia-Japan bilateral relations. This role is crucial for fostering connections between the two peoples and successfully attracting Japanese investors to Cambodia.
He welcomed the Japanese investors’ keen interest in Cambodiaโs agro-industrial and technology sectors. The Senate President further emphasized that the Royal Government is strategically focusing on developing the technology sector, which currently faces high demand in Cambodia. He strongly encouraged the Japanese investors to explore and expand the potential of these vital sectors.
For his part, Mr. Takahashi Fumiaki highlighted that the visiting delegation comprises approximately 36 companies, representing key investments in technology, vocational training, and agro-industry. Mr. Takahashi expressed gratitude for the continuous support provided by the Royal Government, especially during Samdech Techo Hun Sen’s tenure as Prime Minister, noting that this support has been instrumental in building confidence among Japanese investors eyeing opportunities in Cambodia.
