Guess What? IndiGo Just Flew to Cambodia! ✈️

IndiGo Launches First-Ever Direct Flights to Cambodia!

Hey, did you hear the news? IndiGo, that big Indian airline, just started its very first flight ever from Kolkata straight to Siem Reap, Cambodia! This is a huge deal because it’s the first time an Indian airline is running flights between Cambodia and India. Pretty cool, right?

They had a whole welcoming party at the new Siem Reap Angkor International Airport. All the important folks were there—people from the Civil Aviation office, the Ministry of Tourism, travel agents, and a bunch of other experts.

So, here’s the schedule if you want to book a trip: IndiGo (flight 6E) is flying direct between Kolkata (CCU) and Siem Reap (SAI) three times a week: every Monday, Thursday, and Saturday.

Apparently, this direct route is happening because so many people want to travel between the two countries now.

H.E. Sinn Chanserey Vutha, who’s basically the spokesperson for the Civil Aviation guys, said he’s totally confident this new flight is going to be amazing. He thinks it’ll really pump up tourism, open doors for cool cultural exchange, and boost business between India and Cambodia. Plus, it’s going to make their diplomatic relationship even stronger.

He also pointed out that this route isn’t just great for Kolkata; it’ll make it easier for people living all over India to get to Cambodia, too.

Basically, this whole direct flight thing is a big win for the Cambodian Civil Aviation people. They’ve been working hard with ministries and other groups to grow the country’s flight connections. They’ve been chatting with big airlines like IndiGo to make sure launching these new routes is simple and easy.

Oh, and just a side note: the main national carrier, Air Cambodia, is also flying direct flights between Phnom Penh (KTI) and New Delhi (DEL) twice a week, on Tuesdays and Saturdays. So, travel between the two countries is really taking off!
