Dr. Ly Thuch made these comments when he went to the opening ceremony for Yangguofu, a seriously famous Chinese restaurant chain. This is a huge deal because it’s their first location in Cambodia, and it officially opened on November 12, 2025.
This global franchise is massive—they have over 7,300 restaurants in more than 20 countries! They teamed up with a local partner, President Club, to bring it to the Cambodian market.
Speaking for the government, the Senior Minister gave a big thank you to the Yangguofu team and their partners for picking Cambodia as the spot for their flagship brand. He stressed that this smart move proves that international investors trust Cambodia’s stable political situation, its strong economy, and the capable leadership under Prime Minister Hun Manet.
He said, “The Cambodian government is fully focused on policies that actively support and protect businesses and foreign investment. The fact that Yangguofu is opening their first branch here just shows how much potential Cambodia has and how attractive we are as a top spot for investment in Southeast Asia.”
Dr. Ly Thuch also encouraged the restaurant to open even more places around the country, especially in the services and tourism sectors. He thinks this will be a huge help for creating jobs and giving Cambodian young people new skills.
Mr. Wang Andy, the Founder and CEO of President Club, confirmed just how big the Yangguofu brand is, saying they operate more than 7,300 restaurants globally. He explained that opening the first Cambodian branch is a key part of their plan to promote Chinese cuisine globally and expand into new, growing markets across Cambodia and Southeast Asia.
Fun fact: They already have over 7,300 stores worldwide, and President Club plans to open around 500 more across Southeast Asia in the next three years!
Mr. Wang added that Cambodia’s location is super strategic for Yangguofu’s expansion plans. He even revealed a big, ambitious goal: they want to build a Yangguofu food production facility in Cambodia to supply both the local restaurants and the whole region!
