Big Event: Cambodia’s 4th National Ecotourism Forum Announced!

4th National Ecotourism Forum in Siem Reap, Nov 24-25

The Ministry of Tourism is getting ready to host the 4th National Ecotourism Forum on November 24 and 25 at the Sokha Siem Reap Hotel in Siem Reap province.

The Ministry is organizing this event in partnership with the National Committee for the Management and Development of Community-Based Tourism and Ecotourism, as well as several other key government offices.

What is the Forum About?

According to the Ministry’s announcement, this Forum is the major yearly event for two important types of tourism in Cambodia:

  1. Ecotourism: Travel focused on nature and conservation.
  2. Community-Based Tourism: Travel managed by local communities to benefit them directly.

The event will bring together all the key players, including:

  • People from the government and the private business sector.
  • National and international aid groups (NGOs).
  • Development partners.
  • Most importantly, representatives from local communities across Cambodia.

Why Attend?

The Ministry explained that the Forum is a platform for everyone to share ideas and work together. The goals are to:

  • Review successes and discuss challenges.
  • Propose practical solutions and strategies for growing ecotourism and community-based tourism in Cambodia.

The Ministry added that there will also be a special exhibition showcasing community tourism and ecotourism projects.
