Cambodia and China Discuss Strengthening Economic and Investment Cooperation

Cambodia & China Association Meet to Boost Investment

On the morning of November 18, 2025, H.E. Sun Chanthol, Deputy Prime Minister and First Vice-Chairman of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), met and held discussions with a delegation from the China-Asia Economic Development Association.

The delegation was led by Mr. CHEN Jun, Executive Vice-President and Secretary-General of the Association. The main focus of the discussion was to explore the potential for strengthening and expanding economic, trade, and investment cooperation between Cambodia and China within the Asian region.

Broad Investment Opportunities in Cambodia

During the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Sun Chanthol extended a warm welcome to the delegation, who expressed their interest in seeking investment opportunities in Cambodia.

The Deputy Prime Minister highlighted the broad investment opportunities available in Cambodia, which are facilitated by the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC). He noted that the CDC serves as the supporting body and the single window for the Royal Government, responsible for overseeing and managing development cooperation, private investment, and Special Economic Zones (SEZs).

Cambodia & China Association Meet to Boost Investment

The Deputy Prime Minister also highlighted the Reciprocal Trade Agreement between Cambodia and the United States, which was formally signed on October 26, 2025, noting that it provides increased certainty for investors.

Commitment to Bring Chinese Companies to Invest

In response, Mr. CHEN Jun, speaking on behalf of the delegation, expressed his profound gratitude to the Deputy Prime Minister for giving the Association’s delegation the opportunity to meet and discuss cooperation.

He expressed the willingness to encourage and bring high-potential member companies specializing in technology and various processing industries to study the feasibility and seek opportunities to invest in Cambodia.
