Cambodia Launches 100-Hectare Digital Park to Become Regional Tech Hub

Phnom Penh, Cambodia โ€“ Chea Vandeth, Minister of Post and Telecommunications and Chair of the Cambodia Digital Government Committee, announced on Friday (Dec. 5) that the Ministry is actively developing a Digital Park on approximately 100 hectares of land.

The initiative aims to rapidly transform Cambodia into a Digital Hub that drives digital transformation, entrepreneurship, innovation, and skills development in the digital sector. The Minister shared this ambitious vision at the opening of the Digital Government Forum 2025.

Project Goals: Driving Innovation and Digital Skills Development

Minister Chea Vandeth underscored the park’s specific, long-term goals:

“The project will transform Cambodia into a Digital Hub to promote digital transformation, entrepreneurship, innovation, and skills development. This will support new businesses, modernize the education sector, provide comprehensive data infrastructure, and attract investment companies.”

Building the Digital Ecosystem: Linking Education to Industry

The park’s success relies on creating a robust ecosystem linking education and skills training directly with digital industries. This integrated approach is designed to ensure a steady supply of qualified talent while attracting crucial FDI (Foreign Direct Investment).

Vision for a Paperless Society and International Profile

The Minister added that the Ministry’s vision is to gradually turn Cambodia into a paperless society through the increased use of trusted digital technologies. This move will also enhance Cambodiaโ€™s profile on the international stage.

Call for Global Cooperation and Partnerships

He emphasized that achieving this sustainable long-term development requires close cooperation and support from all stakeholders: ministries, state institutions, the private sector, educational and research institutions, and strong bilateral, multilateral, and global partnerships.

Representing the Ministry, Minister Chea Vandeth called on all relevant stakeholders, both domestic and international, to strengthen cooperation to harness the full potential of digital technologies for improving the quality of life for all citizens.

The Digital Government Forum 2025 serves as a platform to further this mission by sharing successful digital transformation experiences and expanding cooperation among policymakers and experts across the region.
