PHNOM PENH, December 22, 2025 โ In a move to further solidify the strategic bond between the ruling powers of Cambodia and China, Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Cambodian Peopleโs Party (CPP), held a high-level meeting today with a senior official from the Communist Party of China (CPC).

The discussions, held at the CPP Headquarters, focused on elevating the “iron-clad” friendship into a new era of institutional excellence through enhanced Cambodia-China party-to-party cooperation.
Human Resource Development and Cambodia-China Party-to-Party Cooperation
The visiting dignitary, H.E. Xie Chuntao, Executive Vice President of the Central Party School of the CPC, emphasized that his mission was to consolidate a “close and cooperative partnership” between the two dominant political forces. Central to this mission is the exchange of knowledge regarding governance and leadership.

Key pillars of this expanded cooperation include:
- Personnel Exchanges: Increasing the frequency of study tours and official visits between CPP and CPC cadres to share administrative best practices.
- Human Resource Development: Utilizing the expertise of the CPC Central Party School to assist in the training of Cambodian officials.
- Joint Capacity-Building: Reaffirming a shared vision for long-term stability and national development through “party-to-party” frameworks.
The “Iron-Clad” Friendship in the New Era
Samdech Techo Hun Sen reaffirmed that the relationship between the CPP and the CPC remains the bedrock of the bilateral ties between the two nations. By expanding Cambodia-China party-to-party cooperation, both sides aim to ensure that their “Community with a Shared Future” is supported by a strong foundation of professional and capable leadership.
H.E. Chea Thyrith, CPP spokesperson, noted that this meeting is a direct follow-up to high-level invitations extended in 2024, proving the continuity and depth of the relationship despite a shifting global landscape.
