Cambodian Red Cross Sends Urgent Food and Water to Families in Need

Cambodian Red Cross Delivers Emergency Food Aid to Displaced Families

The Cambodian Red Cross (CRC) has stepped in to help families who had to leave their homes due to recent fighting. These families are currently staying in safe areas within Battambang province.

On Wednesday, the President of the CRC, Samdech Bun Rany Hun Sen, approved a special delivery of 20 tons of rice. Along with the rice, they are sending 200 cases of bottled water and 200 cases of soft drinks to be handed out to those in need.

This help for Battambang is part of a much larger effort to support people across the country. Just a few days ago, on December 22, the CRC sent out a massive amount of aidโ€”including 100 tons of rice and thousands of cases of drinksโ€”to five other provinces: Oddar Meanchey, Preah Vihear, Siem Reap, Pursat, and Banteay Meanchey.

The CRC, which is also supported by the Queen-Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk, shared a big “thank you” to everyone who has donated money and supplies. It is because of these kind donations that the organization can continue to provide food and safety for families staying in camps across Cambodia.
