Cambodia and Indonesia Forge New Educational Milestone with “TIAS” Scholarship Agreement

PHNOM PENH โ€“ On December 30, 2025, the Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sport (MoEYS) and the Indonesian Embassy in Cambodia officially signed a bilateral agreement on a new scholarship programme to strengthen educational cooperation.

The signing ceremony was presided over by H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Youth, and Sport, alongside H.E. Santo Darmosumarto, the Indonesian Ambassador to Cambodia.

Strengthening Leadership through TIAS

The Indonesian AID Scholarship (TIAS) is a specialized initiative designed to empower human capital and leadership development:

  • Target Audience: Specifically designed for working professionals.
  • Academic Scope: Grants Cambodian civil servants and government-appointed personnel the opportunity to pursue advanced studies in Indonesia.
  • Strategic Goal: Aims to strengthen professional capacity and regional leadership.

A Milestone in Longstanding Relations

H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron expressed profound gratitude to the Indonesian Government, noting that this cooperation serves as a “new milestone” in the longstanding and close ties between the two nations. This agreement further solidifies Indonesia’s role as a key partner in Cambodiaโ€™s human resource development under the Pentagonal Strategy.
