Cambodia’s biggest industry is booming! According to a new report from the Ministry of Commerce, the country sold $14.21 billion worth of clothes, shoes, and travel bags to other countries in the first 11 months of 2025. This is a 16% increase compared to the same time last year.
Breaking Down the Numbers
Most of what Cambodia sells to the world comes from our hard-working factories:
- Clothes: Sold $10.45 billion (Up 17%)
- Shoes: Sold $1.9 billion (Up 26%)
- Travel Goods (Bags/Suitcases): Sold $1.85 billion (Up nearly 4%)
Why Is This Important?
This industry is the “heart” of Cambodia’s economy. It brings in half of all the money the country earns from selling goods abroad. Even though the global economy is facing some tough times, new businesses keep opening in Cambodia.
H.E. Sun Mesa, from the Ministry of Labour, explained that this growth is great news for the people. He noted that the industry is a “massive job creator,” helping the country develop and providing income for hundreds of thousands of families.
