Cambodia-Thailand Joint Border Commission Signs Joint Statement After Intensive Talks

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia — Following a series of intensive, high-stakes discussions, the Special Meeting of the Cambodia-Thailand Joint Boundary Commission (JBC) concluded successfully with the signing of a crucial Joint Statement concerning the border work between the two nations.

The Joint Statement was officially signed by H.E. Lam Chea, Minister in Charge of the Secretariat of the Border Affairs and Chairman of the Cambodia-Thailand Joint Boundary Commission, and H.E. Prasas Prasasvinitchai, Advisor to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Chairman of the Thai-Cambodia Joint Boundary Commission.

This Joint Statement is considered a critical breakthrough and a key to resolving all outstanding issues related to the border between Cambodia and Thailand.
