PHNOM PENH: Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate and President of the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP), led a high-level delegation of the Kingdom of Cambodia departing the homeland for an official goodwill visit to the People’s Republic of China from June 25 to 27, 2026, at the invitation of the Chinese side.
According to a press release from the General Secretariat of the Senate, during the official visit, Samdech Techo Hun Sen will hold a high-level bilateral meeting with H.E. Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and President of the People’s Republic of China.
In addition to the summit, the Senate President will hold separate working discussions with other senior Chinese leaders, including:
- H.E. Li Qiang, Prime Minister of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China
- H.E. Zhao Leji, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of China
Concurrently, during his stay in China, Samdech Techo Hun Sen will pay a royal audience to His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath Norodom Sihamoni, King of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and Her Majesty Queen Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk, who are currently in Beijing for their routine medical checkups.
The press release emphasized that Samdech Techo Hun Sen’s visit underscores the unwavering commitment of both nations to further tighten and elevate their “ironclad friendship.” Furthermore, it will bolster cooperation within the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, aiming to build a more robust and highly successful Cambodia-China Community with a Shared Future in the New Era across all seasons.
The high-level delegation accompanying Samdech Techo includes Samdech Pichey Sena Tea Banh, Personal Supreme Advisor to His Majesty the King and Vice President of the CPP, alongside other key leaders from Cambodia’s legislative and executive bodies.
