King Norodom Sihamoni to Return Home Soon After Successful Surgery in Beijing

PHNOM PENH — His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni is expected to return to Cambodia in the near future, following more than three months of medical treatment and surgery in Beijing, the Ministry of the Royal Palace announced on Tuesday.

According to an official press release, the King has been under close medical supervision at a hospital in the Chinese capital, receiving care from senior specialists and medical staff. The ministry confirmed that His Majesty’s health has shown steady and gradual improvement throughout the treatment period.

Upon his return, the King has granted permission for doctors to continue monitoring his health at the Royal Palace in Phnom Penh, as recommended by the medical team in Beijing.

Their Majesties the King and Queen Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk also extended their deep appreciation to Cambodia’s leadership, the clergy, and the general public for their prayers and well-wishes, which have been offered throughout the monarch’s recovery journey.

The announcement marks a positive development following weeks of public concern over the King’s health, with the Palace affirming that the monarch is now on a stable path to full recovery.
