PARIS / PHNOM PENH — Cambodia has robustly reaffirmed its operational readiness to host the historic 20th Francophonie Summit this upcoming November. The declaration follows a high-level diplomatic milestone in Paris, where Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, H.E. Prak Sokhonn, officially chaired the 47th Extraordinary Ministerial Conference of La Francophonie.
The high-stakes ministerial gathering drew foreign ministers, dignitaries, and top-tier delegations from all 53 member states of the Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie (OIF). A primary focus of the extraordinary sessions centered on evaluating strategic visions presented by the candidates vying for the position of OIF Secretary-General. Following rigorous interactive Q&A sessions, the ministerial body formulated core directives and recommendations, which will be formally advanced to respective Heads of State and Government for the definitive appointment.
Detailing Cambodia’s highly accelerated logistical and administrative preparations for the upcoming 20th Francophonie Summit—scheduled to take place from November 15–16, 2026—H.E. Prak Sokhonn underscored the Kingdom’s unyielding commitment to delivering a world-class global assembly. The highly anticipated summit will convene under the strategic theme: “Reinvesting in Peace for Shared Prosperity and Sustainable Stability.”
“Cambodia stands fully prepared to extend its signature warm hospitality to all international delegations,” H.E.
