Hun Manet Congratulates the Philippines on Assuming 2026 ASEAN Chairmanship

Kuala Lumpur/Phnom Penh: The 47th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits, which took place over three busy days (from October 26 to October 28, 2025) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, successfully concluded on the afternoon of October 28, 2025.

During the solemn closing ceremony, His Excellency Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia and ASEAN Chairman for 2025, handed over the rotating ASEAN Chairman’s gavel to the Republic of the Philippines, which will assume the role of ASEAN Chairman for 2026.

Immediately following the conclusion of the Summit and the handover ceremony, Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, posted a warm congratulatory message to the Republic of the Philippines on becoming the incoming ASEAN Chair for 2026.

The participation of Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, along with other ASEAN leaders, in this handover ceremony affirmed Cambodia’s commitment to supporting the ASEAN spirit and the continuous rotation of regional leadership.
