75 Suspects Arrested in Phnom Penh Operation; Laptops and Mobile Phones Confiscated as Evidence

PHNOM PENH, Cambodia โ€“ A total of 75 Thai nationals, including 48 women, were detained by Cambodian joint forces during an operation targeting an alleged online scam syndicate.

The operation involved inspecting and searching a location known as the Amara Farm in Koh Krabei 1 Village, Prek Thmei Sangkat, Chbar Ampov District, Phnom Penh. This action followed a surveillance report indicating suspicious activity related to online fraud (Online Scam).

I. Operation Leadership and Execution

The operation was conducted on the afternoon of December 9, 2025, under the direction and coordination of the Secretariat of the Inter-Ministerial Committee for Combating Technology Scams (ICCTS). The ICCTS collaborated closely with the General Commission of the National Police, the Phnom Penh Unity Command, and was legally coordinated by a representative of the Phnom Penh Municipal Court Prosecutorโ€™s Office, with participation from relevant local authorities.

  • Detainment and Seizure: Authorities inspected the suspected premises and successfully detained all 75 suspects. Simultaneously, forces confiscated essential evidence, including a number of laptops and mobile phones. The premises have been temporarily sealed off.

II. Strict Legal Action Against Ring Leaders

Currently, the suspects and evidence have been transferred to the General Commission of the National Police for further legal processing.

Specialized authorities are cooperating with related units to continue investigations aimed at taking legal action against the masterminds behind this technological scam operation.

The ICCTS stressed that under the framework of this nationwide campaign to eliminate online fraud, joint forces across the country will enforce the law with the utmost stringency against all ringleaders involved in these scams, without exception.
