PM Hun Manet and RoK Foreign Minister Cho Hyun Deepen Cambodia-Korea Partnership

PHNOM PENH – Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea (RoK), H.E. Cho Hyun, this morning at the Peace Palace in Phnom Penh. The high-level discussion focused on strengthening the Cambodia-Korea strategic partnership.

Minister Cho Hyun immediately commended the steady progress of relations and cooperation between the two nations across all sectors.

In response, Prime Minister Hun Manet expressed sincere appreciation to the RoK for its active contribution to Cambodia’s socio-economic development. He highly valued the South Korean Foreign Minister’s official visit, stressing that it would further deepen the friendship and bilateral cooperation.

The Cambodian Premier specifically thanked the Korean government for its continued support and care for Cambodian citizens living and working in Korea. He also affirmed that the Royal Government considers the safety and well-being of Korean nationals residing and working in Cambodia a high national priority.

Both sides actively discussed ways to strengthen and expand bilateral cooperation across several key areas. These strategic areas include economy, investment, trade, national defence and security, industry, and the establishment of special economic zones (SEZs) dedicated to Korean enterprises. They also prioritized enhancing people-to-people exchanges and tourism promotion—all aimed at enhancing the partnership for the mutual benefit of both nations.
