Health Ministry and UNDP Sign Agreement to Use Technology and Find New Ways to Pay for Healthcare
PHNOM PENH, Cambodia โ Cambodia’s Ministry of Health (MoH) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) signed a new agreement here on December 9. The goal is to work together to build a stronger and more inclusive healthcare system for everyone in Cambodia.
The signing was witnessed by H.E. Prof. Chheang Ra, the Minister of Health, and Mrs. Kanni Wignaraja, who is the UN Assistant Secretary-General and Regional Director for Asia and the Pacific.
Focusing on Technology and Funding
The Minister of Health highly praised the UNDP for its long-standing technical and financial support for Cambodiaโs health sector. He thanked the organization for helping Cambodia develop a health system that is sustainable and fair for all citizens.
Mrs. Kanni Wignaraja of the UN explained how the new agreement will help:
- Digital Innovation: It will help modernize the health sector by using new digital technology (like apps or better data systems).
- Sustainable Funding: It will focus on creating a lasting system for funding healthcare, ensuring that necessary money is always available.
In short, this partnership aims to make sure Cambodiaโs health services are modern, well-funded, and ready to meet everyone’s needs for years to come.
