So far, 20 unique Cambodian products have been officially recognized as special national products. This recognition is managed by the Ministry of Commerce’s Intellectual Property Department.
These 20 products fall into three special categories:
- 11 Collective Marks: These are products where the name is used by a group of producers who meet specific quality standards.
- 8 Geographical Indications (GI): These products are famous because of where they come from and how that location influences their quality and reputation (like a local specialty).
- 1 Certification Mark: This means the product meets specific quality or origin standards set by an organization.

The goal is to increase the variety of products Cambodia exports and to make the country’s product brand stronger globally. These strategic products include: rice, paddy (unhusked rice), cashew nuts, cassava, mango, pepper, and Pailin longan (a sweet fruit).
