Cambodia to Develop 11 Nationwide Logistics Hubs Under 2023-2033 Master Plan

Kampong Cham: Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet has reiterated the government’s commitment to modernizing Cambodia’s transport sector, aiming to boost economic growth through the “Comprehensive Master Plan on Cambodia Intermodal Transport and Logistics System 2023-2033.”

Key Strategic Initiatives:

  • Logistics Network: The government plans to develop 11 major logistics hubs nationwide, including centers in Phnom Penh, Sihanoukville, Bavet, Poipet, and seven other provinces.
  • Priority Infrastructure: Key projects include upgrading the Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville railway, the Poipet-Siem Reap-Phnom Penh railway, the Funan Techo Canal, and the Techo International Airport.
  • Policy Reform: To support business efficiency, the permitted cargo weight limit has been increased to 50 tonnes. The Prime Minister underscored the importance of balancing business facilitation with the preservation of national assets, calling for strict enforcement against overloaded vehicles via smart weigh stations.
