Deepening Collaboration Against Online Scams

Hun Manet highlighted the growing collaboration between Cambodia and South Korea in combating transnational crimes, particularly online scams.
He praised the effectiveness of joint law enforcement efforts, noting that cooperation between the two nations has already delivered tangible and positive results.

“Cambodia and the Republic of Korea will continue to strengthen our collaboration to prevent, suppress, and combat online scams more effectively, contributing to peace, public order, and social security,” the Prime Minister stated.

Rejecting Third-Party Interference

Addressing recent media reports from a neighboring country suggesting that its leader plans to discuss online scam issues in Cambodia with the President of South Korea, Hun Manet firmly rejected the notion of third-party involvement.

“If this report is true, I have asked Her Excellency Kim Jina to convey to His Excellency the President that Cambodia does not need any neighboring country to carry out such work on its behalf,” Hun Manet emphasized.
“The leader of that country should instead focus on properly resolving their own domestic issues. Cambodia and the Republic of Korea possess sufficient capacity and means to work together bilaterally to address the matter,” he added.

Strengthening Bilateral Trust

Hun Manet’s remarks underline Cambodia’s confidence in its bilateral mechanisms with South Korea, particularly in tackling digital crimes and safeguarding public security. The Prime Minister’s statement also reinforces Cambodia’s stance on maintaining national sovereignty and mutual respect in international cooperation.

The meeting reflects both nations’ commitment to a stronger, more secure digital future, as they continue to expand their strategic partnership across key areas of development.
