Hey, there was a really tough incident at the border, and Prime Minister Hun Manet and the First Lady, Dr. Pich Chanmony, went to visit the victims this morning.
Three Cambodian civilians were shot by Thai military forces on the afternoon of November 12th in Prey Chan village, which is in Banteay Meanchey province. They’re currently getting special, advanced care at Calmette Hospital in Phnom Penh.

The Prime Minister’s Statement
The PM shared that he and his wife visited the three citizens, calling them “innocent.”
When the shooting first happened, the victims were rushed to the Cambodia-Japan Mongkul Borei Friendship Provincial Hospital in Banteay Meanchey. The medical teams there performed crucial life-saving surgery before transferring them to Calmette for the advanced treatment they need.
The Prime Minister made sure to give a big thanks to:
- Local authorities and security forces for quickly jumping in to rescue and transport the wounded people right away.
- The medical teams at the provincial hospital for their successful surgery and dedication.
He ended by wishing all three victims a speedy and strong recovery.
He also offered his deepest condolences to the family of the civilian who was killed in the incident, a man named Dy Nai.

Cambodia’s Stance
Addressing the conflict, the Prime Minister was very firm about Cambodia’s position: the country remains unwavering in its commitment to resolving all issues through peaceful means.
He stressed that using violence or armed force is pointless and dangerous. “Resorting to violence… yields no benefit and creates no positive conditions for resolving problems. Instead, it endangers the lives and property of innocent civilians,” he said.
