Hun Sen and Vietnamese PM Vow to Boost Bilateral Ties in Hanoi

HANOI — Cambodian Senate President Hun Sen met with Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Tuesday afternoon in Hanoi, where both leaders affirmed their commitment to strengthening the comprehensive relationship between their nations. The meeting was part of Hun Sen’s official visit to attend the commemoration of the 80th anniversary of Vietnam’s August Revolution and National Day.

During the talks, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh welcomed Hun Sen and the Cambodian delegation, emphasizing the long-standing solidarity and friendship between the two countries. He praised Cambodia’s recent political stability and economic development, expressing confidence in its continued success.

For his part, Hun Sen expressed his honor in attending the historic anniversary celebrations, calling the August Revolution a source of inspiration for independence movements worldwide. Both leaders praised the frequent high-level exchanges between their two parties and states, which they said have consistently bolstered bilateral cooperation.

The leaders also agreed to boost economic relations, with a focus on expanding trade and market access, strengthening tourism, and improving border connectivity. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested Hun Sen’s support in facilitating key cooperative mechanisms and increasing investment and trade for both nations.
