On the morning of January 10, 2026, His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni visited wounded frontline soldiers currently recovering at Preah Ket Mealea Hospital in Phnom Penh.

The King spent time at the bedsides of these brave men, offering his deepest sympathy and words of encouragement. His visit was a heartfelt thank-you to the soldiers who risked their lives to protect Cambodiaโs borders during the intense armed conflict that took place from December 7 to 27, 2025.

Royal Support in Difficult Times
The King and the Queen Mother have remained deeply involved in supporting those affected by the border tensions since they began in May 2025. Their Majesties have not only followed the situation closely but have also:
- Provided financial aid to soldiers on the front lines.
- Donated funds to help the thousands of civilians who were forced to leave their homes during the fighting.
A Nation Moving Toward Peace
The conflict, which involved disputes over border markings and territory, resulted in a ceasefire on December 27, 2025. Now that the fighting has stopped, the Kingโs visit serves as a powerful reminder of the nationโs unity. By visiting the hospital, His Majesty showed that the sacrifices made by the armed forces are recognized and honored at the highest level of the Kingdom.
