PHNOM PENH โ€“ On December 25, 2025, the National Bank of Cambodia (NBC) issued an official press release announcing the removal of 20 rural credit institutions from its registered list. This regulatory move aims to strengthen the oversight of the financial sector and ensure transparency across the Kingdom’s credit landscape.

According to the official announcement, the delisted institutions operated across seven major provinces and cities, including Phnom Penh, Kandal, Kampot, Kampong Cham, Battambang, Kampong Speu, and Banteay Meanchey.

The NBC encourages the public and relevant authorities to take note of this announcement to avoid any confusion regarding financial transactions with the aforementioned institutions that are no longer officially recognized.
