Samdech Hun Sen Chairs Senate Session to Review 5 Key International Agreements

PHNOM PENH โ€“ On the morning of Friday, October 24, 2025, Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate of the Kingdom of Cambodia, presided over the 4th Session of the 5th Legislature of the Senateat the Senate Palace in Phnom Penh.

The plenary session focused on examining and providing input on five crucial draft laws related to important regional and international agreements. The agenda included:

  1. Draft Lawย on the approval of theย Agreement on the ASEAN Food Safety Regulatory Framework.
  2. Draft Lawย on the approval of theย Protocol to Amend the ASEAN Agreement on the Movement of Natural Persons.
  3. Draft Lawย on the approval of theย First Protocol to Amend the Agreement on Trade in Goods of the ASEAN-Hong Kong, China Free Trade Area.
  4. Draft Lawย on the approval of theย Second Protocol to Amend the Agreement Establishing the ASEAN-Australia-New Zealand Free Trade Area.
  5. Draft Lawย on the approval of theย Convention Establishing the Organization for Commerce for Unification of Laws (Unidroit).

The review and consultation process, led by Samdech Techo Hun Sen, aims to ensure that these agreements will enter into force in accordance with the Constitution and to promote national interests by enhancing regional and international cooperation in trade, food safety, and the harmonization of laws.
