Deputy Prime Minister Hun Many and Chinese Ambassador Kick Off Key Dialogue to Boost Trust and Economic Ties
PHNOM PENH, Cambodia – The Cambodia-China Friendship Exchange Forum successfully launched on December 15, 2025, bringing together over 300 leaders, entrepreneurs, academics, and media representatives from both nations. The main goal of the event is clear: to inspire mutual understanding, build deep trust, and jointly advance the “All-Weather Cambodia-China Community with a Shared Future in the New Era.”
Official Opening and Leadership
The official opening ceremony was presided over by H.E. Hun Many, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Civil Service, alongside H.E. Wang Wenbin, the Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia.
The forum, themed “Silk Road Connecting People to People,” is being held from December 14-16, 2025. It was co-organized by the Youth House for Cambodia-China Friendship and the China Foundation for Peace and Development, with strong support from the Royal Government of Cambodia and the Chinese Embassy.
I. Promoting People-to-People Ties and Economic Cooperation
This annual forum serves as a critical platform to achieve several key objectives:
- Expand Cooperation: Promote and connect existing partnerships while establishing new cooperation channels across the private sector, universities, research institutions, and organizations.
- Inspire Mutual Understanding: Deepen people-to-people relations to build lasting trust and understanding between the two countries.
A Key Driving Force for Youth and Business
Speaking at the opening, H.E. Hun Many highlighted the forum’s significance as a key driving force in promoting cultural exchanges among youth and exploring new business opportunities for young entrepreneurs. This aligns directly with the government’s efforts to build the comprehensive bilateral community.

Deputy Prime Minister Hun Many stressed that the enduring Cambodia-China friendship is an “ironclad” relationship carefully nurtured by successive generations of leaders.
He emphasized that this relationship is being further strengthened under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei HUN Manet and Chinese President H.E. XI Jinping.

H.E. Hun Many reaffirmed the unwavering commitment of the Cambodia-China Youth House for Friendship to implement key cooperation mechanisms, including:
- Diamond Cooperation Framework
- Fish and Rice Corridors
- Industrial and Technological Corridors
These mechanisms demonstrate the tangible steps being taken to consolidate and deepen the comprehensive strategic partnership and ensure win-win cooperation between the two nations.
